Xelpov’s Bohler Extension Bow provide essential support for doctors in treating bone fractures effectively while preventing malunion. Surgeons attach the bow to extension pins inserted into the fractured bones, creating a traction system that promotes proper healing and alignment.

Effective Traction Systems for Optimal Healing

To initiate the process, surgeons drill screw pins into the distal segment of the fractured bone. They then attach the Bohler bow to these pins, ensuring the two sides of the fracture remain aligned. This alignment is crucial for preventing malunions and deformities. To enhance this process, we designed the bow’s wire frame with an extended profile, allowing increased reach for better adjustment during procedures.

Bohler Extension Bow Flexible and Reliable Design

Next, the surgeon places the bow on a stirrup that should rotate freely on its swivels, often requiring lubrication for optimal functionality. This flexibility enables surgeons to adjust the alignment easily as needed, providing a smoother surgical experience.

Stability and Comfort in Use

We constructed the symmetrical frame with two screw locks that securely hold and stabilize the bow in place. The design incorporates smooth ergonomic curves, ensuring the device conforms comfortably to the shapes of both upper and lower limbs, enhancing patient comfort during the healing process.

Bohler Extension Bow for Various Fractures

Xelpov’s Extension Bows are available for both upper and lower limb fractures, with two sizes designed specifically for femur and knee fractures (210 x 150 mm and 210 x 110 mm) and a smaller size for arm fractures (160 x 90 mm). These varied options cater to the unique needs of each patient, providing tailored solutions for optimal recovery.
