The Kelman Cystotome offers a wide range of surgical advantages. Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic way to create cuts over the lens capsule surface.
For this purpose, the instrument features a curved, sharp-pointed tip that has the ideal design for reaching the lens capsule. In addition, the tip attaches to a 23 gauge straight tube with a small port, which helps to aspire debris and liquids.
Moreover, the Kelman Cystotome features a hub handle with an internal passage to permit the flow of fluids. Also, its square-shaped design allows for enhanced gripping and prevents accidental slippage.
