Mastin Muscle Forceps
Xelpov’s Mastin Muscle Forceps is a specialized surgical device that general surgeons commonly use for grasping, mobilizing and dividing muscular tissues, especially during surgeries involving the neck muscles.
- Four Pins Promoting Additional Grasping Force.
- Atraumatic Serrations Avoiding Local Injury.
- Ergonomic Finger Rings Ensuring Maximum Control.
The Mastin Muscle Forceps offers a broad range of surgical benefits. Its principal use is to provide an atraumatic retraction of the strap muscles during thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy and other procedures.
For this purpose, the jaws feature four pins that enhance the grasping action. In addition, the internal surfaces of the tips have horizontal serrations, which prevent damage to the muscles held. As a result, surgeons can safely retract the sternothyroid and sternohyoid muscles for gaining optimal exposure of the thyroid gland.
Moreover, the Mastin Muscle Forceps feature a ratchet system for self-locking the jaws and manipulating other devices. Also, the boxlock helps in closing the tips against each other with smooth movements.
