The Mclntyre Cystotome offers a wide range of surgical benefits. Its principal use is to permit fragmentation of the lens nucleus by incising the lens capsule.
For this purpose, the instrument features an angled tube that conforms with the anatomy of the lens. In addition, the tube has a sharp-pointed tip, which bent upwards to help surgeons in cutting the capsule with precision.
Moreover, the Mclntyre Cystotome’s tube features an anterior port for irrigating solutions. As a result, the operator can remove blood or other fluids and optimize the view of the surgical field.
