The Sayre Periosteal Elevator offers a wide range of surgical benefits for orthopedic surgeons. These benefits take center stage during osteotomies and fracture repairing procedures.
For this purpose, the elevator features a versatile double-ended design connected by a central handle. Moreover, one end consists of a straight blunt tip and the other features a curved sharp blade. Also, there’s an especial pattern that comes with double blunt working ends.
As a result, surgeons can use the sharp cutting edge to create incisions and slipping the instrument between the bone and the periosteum. On the other hand, the blunt tip is useful for broadening the incision, which allows the further elevation and dissection of the tissue.
