The Scoville Nerve Root Retractor offers a wide range of surgical advantages. Its principal function is to maintain the desired nerve root safe from other cutting instruments during laminectomy or discectomy.
For this purpose, the instrument features a wide blade with a descendent lip that atraumatically accommodates nerve roots. After that, the blunt edges of the blade ensure an efficient retraction, thereby protecting the nerve.
