The Semken Dressing Forceps is a thumb-type instrument that offers a wide assortment of benefits. Its main uses are holding swabs for maintaining a clear view of the operating site and removing debris.

For this purpose, the instrument features delicate, tapering jaws that easily pass into narrow spaces. Moreover, the low-wear internal serrations permit grasping delicate tissues without causing trauma. Also, surgeons can carry small swabs and drapes for absorbing blood and facilitate hemostasis.
