Xelpov’s Viscoelastic Aspirating Cannula is a specialized tool that ophthalmic surgeons can use to irrigate and aspire viscid viscoelastic substances in and out of the anterior chamber, in order to protect the corneal epithelium during IOL insertion.

The Viscoelastic Aspirating Cannula offers a wide array of surgical advantages. Its principal use is to permit atraumatic placement of the intraocular lens during phaco and other cataract procedures.
For this purpose, the instrument features a 19/22 gauge tube with an angled profile that permits reliable approaches. In addition, the tube has a circular bore to inject or aspire the solution, and its angled profile ensures optimal access into the anterior chamber.
Moreover, the Viscoelastic Aspirating Cannula features a bottom hub that permits a smooth flow of viscoelastic substances. Also, the hub serves as an attachment point between the tube and the silicone bulb.
