The Ward Periosteal Elevator offers a wide array of surgical benefits for orthopedic surgeons. These benefits come in handy for performing surgical procedures involving bone or joint repairing.
Firstly, the elevator comes with a flat, round tip with blunt edges. Moreover, the tip is small and has a slight curve for elevating delicate sheets of periosteum. As a result, surgeons can insert the tip into a small incision and afterward lift a flap of periosteum for exposing bony tissue, tendons, and joint components.
Secondly, the device features a hollow handle with vertical grooves. This particular design enhances gripping and minimizes the risk of slippage.
