For this purpose, the instrument features a double-beveled blade equipped with a sharp cutting edge. Moreover, the blade has a slight upward curve that allows surgeons to place the cutting edge onto the pterygoid plate.

In addition, the device has a solid, round handle supplied with a bottom impacting platform. Also, the impacting platform is circular and serves to receive careful mallet impacts.
