The Pennybaker Periosteal Elevator offers a broad range of surgical advantages for orthopedic surgeons. These advantages are particularly important in procedures that involve bone repairing.
For this purpose, the instrument comes with a 6.0mm flat, spatula-shaped tip with a slight curve. Moreover, the tip’s sharp cutting edge allows surgeons not only to elevate periosteal flat but also to atraumatically dissect them. As a result, they can expose the surfaces of delicate and small bones.
In addition, the device features a solid handle with horizontal ridges over its surface. This particular design helps in ensuring a strong grip and minimizes finger strain.
