The Matson Rib Elevator and Spreader offers multiple benefits for cardiothoracic surgeons. These benefits play a vital role in surgeries that require rib stripping, to obtain access to the thoracic cavity contents.
For instance, this instrument features a versatile double-ended profile. Moreover, one end consists of a C-shaped tip with semi-sharp edges for stripping the muscle from the desired rib. On the other hand, the opposite end features a slightly curved blade that is ideal for lifting periosteal flaps.
