The Hargis Mandibular Body Retractor offers multiple benefits during mandibular reconstructive procedures. Its principal use is to provide an efficient way to expose the mandibular body without damaging nearby tissues.
For this purpose, the instrument features a blade that arches backwards to easily fit the inferior border of the mandible. In addition, the blade’s concave profile faces against the border with precision and protects blood vessels. Furthermore, the terminal tip curves forward to lock on the bone and permit retraction.
Moreover, the Hargis Mandibular Body Retractor features a bulky, hollow handle with an ergonomic design. It has a bottom hook that allows surgeons to rest their hand comfortably, thereby preventing slippage.
